Great days out when on holiday in Marmaris

The Turkish resort of Marmaris still attracts tourists in their thousands, eager to enjoy the wonderful climate and make the most of the great exchange rate of the Turkish Lira. Set on the coast of Turkey where the Mediterranean gives way to the Aegean, there are a whole host of day trips available if you don’t want to lie by the pool or day, or relax on the beach being served drinks from whichever sea front bar you are beside.

All along the stunning promenade you will find stands where day trips are on sale. The key to this is to shop around as while the prices don’t vary much, you will find they differ. One of the most popular trips is on Gulet, an old fashioned wooden yacht, that will take you out for the full day, stopping off at the various island that are dotted along the coastline, and you can also spot dolphins.

These trips are usually all inclusive; with an open bar serving beer and soft drinks and a lunch thrown in. These are not only a fantastic way to spend a day but also a great way of saving a bit of money if you have been hammering the markets. You can enjoy a full day for around £10-£15, and the only money you will spend is if you buy a drink or a souvenir on one of the islands.

Turkish mud baths are a must for many visitors, and a visit to a Hamam is highly recommended. Not only will you feel wonderfully relaxed, your skin will both look and feel great as all the impurities will have been removed, and it’s a great way of prolonging that tan. These trips usually include pick up and drop off at your hotel, a soap massage, a rub massage and a towel sauna.

For the more adventurous, jeep safaris are great fun. Just behind Marmaris are a range of mountains and lush countryside that beg to be explored, and a jeep safari is the best way to do this. These all day trips are all inclusive and from being picked up in the morning to being dropped off at tea time, you will have the ride of your life.
