Rita Ackermann began life in 1968 in Budapest, and left the city for New York more than two decades ago to pursue her artistic dreams. She became a pivotal figure in the 1990’s underground art scene, mixing together all the visual culture genres by taking inspiration from music, street culture and fashion. Budapest’s Ludwig Museum is now presenting a solo show from Rita Ackerman as part of their series showcasing Hungarian artists.
This exhibition has her works from the past 3 years juxtaposed with key pieces from throughout her career which are used as reference points to track the path of her artistic journey by.
